Practical and compassionate support through bereavement
Grief touches every workplace, every team, and every community, yet it’s rarely spoken about or properly supported.
When someone experiences loss, it can affect far more than their role; it shapes how they feel, think, and connect with those around them.
At Graceful Bereavement Support, we offer calm, compassionate guidance to help individuals and groups navigate bereavement with greater understanding, care, and confidence.
Bereavement Cafés
A Place to Pause, Talk, and Be Held by Community
Our bereavement cafés offer a soft landing for anyone living with loss. They are calm, welcoming spaces where you can speak openly, listen, or simply sit in shared company. I created them to fill a gap in community support and to provide a place where grief is met with kindness rather than silence.
We run two well-established and popular cafés at Thames View Crematorium in North Kent, serving the communities in Gravesend and the surrounding Medway Towns and the second at Deptford Library, which supports residents across the borough of Lewisham, Greenwich and Southwark.

Bringing Compassion and Understanding Into Your Workplace or Community
We offer bereavement training and facilitated support sessions for organisations, teams, and community groups of all kinds. These sessions help people understand the impact of grief, communicate with confidence, and create environments where those who are grieving feel supported rather than overwhelmed or overlooked.
Our offer includes:
- Training for managers, staff, and volunteers on how to support someone who has experienced a bereavement
- Facilitated group conversations that create a safe, gentle space for people to talk about loss
- Guidance on shaping compassionate policies and practices, helping organisations respond to bereavement with consistency and care
- Support for teams after a significant loss, offering structure, understanding, and a place to process together
Our approach is shaped by my background in humanistic counselling and my work within the funeral industry, giving me a grounded, real‑world understanding of how people experience loss and what they need from those around them. I bring practical guidance, compassionate insight, and a framework that helps groups respond to bereavement with care and integrity.

Mentoring and Coaching
Individual Coaching for Managers
I provide one‑to‑one coaching for managers who are supporting a bereaved employee. Sessions focus on:
- Understanding the emotional impact of bereavement
- Communicating with sensitivity and confidence
- Setting healthy expectations and boundaries
- Creating a supportive environment without overstepping
- Managing team dynamics after a loss
This work is informed by my humanistic counselling training and my experience within the funeral industry, offering grounded, real‑world insight into what people need when they’re grieving.
